故事發(fā)生在一家名為盧蒙的超級大公司內(nèi)，一種名為記憶切割術(shù)的全新技術(shù)正在公司內(nèi)部進行實驗，接受了手術(shù)的員工將進行人格分離手術(shù)，形成公司人格和日常人格。這項大膽的“平衡工作與生活”的實驗受到了質(zhì)疑。員工馬克發(fā)現(xiàn)自己身處一個謎團的中心，迫使他面對工作和自我的本質(zhì)。
